J&L Powersports LLC is a small, family-owned and operated shop located in beautiful Questa, New Mexico—surrounded by the Carson National Forest.
Founded in 2021, J&L Powersports was born out of a passion for doing things right. After spending over two decades in the powersports industry, we noticed a consistent gap in quality service. So, we set out to change that by creating a shop that puts integrity, expertise, and customer care at the forefront.
With 20+ years of hands-on experience, we specialize in both the latest machines and the classics. Whether your ride is brand new or has some miles under its belt, our expert mechanic is here to tackle any problem. We service all major brands of ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles.
We’re proud to announce that we’ve recently become an authorized Beta Motorcycles dealer and now also offer used units for sale—giving our customers even more options for their off-road adventures.

JAMES
About James – Owner & Lead Technician
Growing up in Michigan, James was always exploring—whether on his ATV or out on the water in his boat. That early passion for powersports led him to pursue formal training at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Arizona, specializing in Harley-Davidson and Yamaha motorcycles.
After graduating, James returned to Michigan to begin his career at a local powersports dealership. A year later, he relocated to Texas, where he climbed the ranks to become a Master Technician in the powersports industry.

James has worked on nearly every type of machine, from brand-new unit assembly to complete engine and transmission rebuilds—and everything in between. Though his favorite brand to work on is Can-Am, he enjoys the challenge of servicing all makes and models.
Fueled by a strong work ethic and a deep love for the industry, James was ready to strike out on his own. That vision led to the founding of J&L Powersports, where he brings skill, precision, and pride to every job.
MASON
Meet Mason – Technician
Originally from Balko, Oklahoma, Mason brings a lifelong passion for powersports to the J&L Powersports team. He’s been racing dirt bikes since the age of 3, and his love for motorsports extends well beyond the track.
When he’s not turning wrenches, Mason enjoys snowboarding, snowmobiling, and—of course—riding dirt bikes. His latest project? A 1980 Harley-Davidson Ironhead, which has quickly become one of his favorite machines.
In the shop, Mason’s favorite machine to work on is the Polaris Ranger 900, but his enthusiasm and mechanical skill make him a valuable asset no matter what rolls into the bay.
LAUREN
Meet Lauren – Co-Owner & Powersports Specialist
Growing up in Red River, New Mexico, Lauren developed a deep love for the outdoors early on. With the annual Red River Motorcycle Rally sparking her passion for bikes, she dreamed from a young age of one day owning her own motorcycle business.
That dream took shape when Lauren attended the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Arizona, where she became a Master Technician in Harley-Davidson and Yamaha motorcycles. Never one to stop learning, she went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Diesel Mechanics.
After several successful years working as a diesel mechanic in Texas, Lauren felt the pull back to her true passion—powersports. She returned to the industry with a wide-ranging skill set that includes parts, service, warranty, and insurance claims.
Today, Lauren is factory certified in Polaris, Yamaha, and KTM, and plays a vital role in delivering the exceptional service J&L Powersports is known for. Together, James and Lauren form a powerhouse team dedicated to doing everything off-road, done right.
